Christmas Peace
A shining rainbow arched above
The planet earth tonight,
Illumined by the Star of Love,
The Holy Christmas Light;
The magic span invisible
Unites the hearts of men,
And the sound of angel music
Floats down to earth again:
Peace on earth, goodwill to all,
We hear the sweet refrain,
It makes the troubled heart rejoice
And brings surcease to pain;
Oh, Holy One, put out the flame
Of hate that burns so bright,
And in its ashes plant Thy Rose
Of Christmas Peace tonight!
