Winter White

Winter breezes beckon me
To come and join the fun,
To prance among the woodlands
And watch forest critters on the run.

A white-tailed deer plays hide and seek
Among the brush and bramble,
While squirrels, chipmunks and raccoons,
Anxiously get caught up in the scramble.

Drifting snowflakes make me long to dance
Or ice skate in the park,
While children create Mr. Snowman,
Then go sledding in the dark.

Some say Winter's a dreaded time,
The earth seems so barren and cold,
Yet God in His wisdom created Winter too--
And on Winter white I'm sold!

--Linda C. Grazulis

Grant me the key to unlock their spirits and set them truly free.
For they're only little one time,
only innocent and trusting and pliable for a space of time,
one minute in an eternity.

Let me do my best for them while I have the chance.

how often,
and when it's best to just look the other way.

Help me be patient and give me a gentle hand to mold them into better people.

They're only little once.

Let me be a good teacher and an even better example.
Give me the right words and deeds to teach them.
Grant me the key to unlock their spirits and set them truly free.
For they're only little one time,
only innocent and trusting and pliable for a space of time,
one minute in an eternity.

Let me do my best for them while I have the chance.

You fixed all the limits of the earth; Summer and Winter You made.  Psalms 74:17
