"CHARACTER"
Do not be disturbed by what people say of you for it is far less
important than what they think of you. And what they think of you
is only
important in so far as you allow it to be. In the final analysis the
only truly important view of your character is your own.
Stay with
what you know to be true. Do not let others, by reason of argument,
social standing or position sway you from confidence in,
or pursuit of personal
ideals.
Remember that perfection is always beyond us, but continue to seek. In
this search we may benefit greatly from
other value systems; therefore, weigh
carefully all that is reasonable, so that the wisdom of others will not be
lost to you.
Be ever aware that misjudgments of your character may come to burden
your life. Still, if your values are sound and
your judgment of self
is a true and honest appraisal, then your rightful character will emerge;
and even your most ardent detractors,
however grudgingly, will recognize
integrity and courage. More importantly the reflection you see in the
mirrors of life will be
one with which you are comfortable and whose gaze
you can return with steady confidence and peace of mind.
